Dayingpan Great Wall

The Dayingpan Great Wall is located in Ruiyunguan Township, Huailai County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province. Built in the fifteenth year of the Zhengde era of the Ming Dynasty (1520), it has over 500 years of history. Its construction was closely tied to the improvement of northern border defense systems during the Ming Dynasty, serving as a frontline defense against invasions by Mongolian tribes.

During the critical Battle of Nankou in 1937, this section functioned as the frontline headquarters for the Chinese Army's 4th and 72nd Divisions. Soldiers fought valiantly against Japanese forces here, leaving enduring battle scars on the wall's structure. Below the wall lies Dayingpan Village, traditionally believed to have been a Ming Dynasty military garrison. Most villagers share the surname Feng, believed to be descendants of frontier guards who continued the area's historical legacy with the Great Wall.
